Many of us are aware of and celebrate Christmas and Easter. Christmas is when we celebrate the birth of the Christ in Bethlehem. Easter is the day we celebrate the resurrection of the Christ and his victory over death. But do you know what the third great holiday of Christians is?

It is the Day of Penetocst. It is the day when the church received the gift of the Holy Spirit. It is the birth of the church. Pentecost should be on the same level as Christmas and Easter. This year Pentecost is on May 15th. Oh, how I drean that the church pews would be filled as they are on Chritmas Eve and Easter Subday, but I know they won't. People won't even give this day a second thought. After all, there will be store sales to celebrate and remind us of this great day.

Jesus, in his discourse in John 14 reminded us that the Holy Spirit would come to replace him as the church moved forward and so it did with the rush of the wind.

Come and celebrate the birthday of the church on Pentecost Sunday this year.
